Oh, Not Again! Man Arrested For Allegedly Stabbing His Wife To Death

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Gbenga Ogunfolabo in Ishara, Remo North Local Government Area of the state for allegedly stabbing his wife, 45-year-old Bosede, to death with a broken bottle.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Tuesday, alleged that the suspect, a 47-year-old farmer stabbed Bosede to death during a fight between the couple on Wednesday last week but the incident was not reported to the police as a result of family pressure.
The PPRO said one of the relations of the deceased (name withheld) decided to report the matter to the police for thorough investigation before the suspected killer husband was arrested.
The police explained that two of the couple eight children died as a result of an undisclosed sickness, adding that the husband reportedly started maltreating the wife, a petty trader, culminating in the fracas that claimed the life of Bosede.
“The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Ikemefuna Okoye, has directed that the matter be transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation Eleweran, Abeokuta, for discreet investigation. He has advised the general public to always report cases of this nature or any other crimes to the police to have records or statistics of crimes committed in the state and to allow justice to take its course,” the police spokesman said.
