Just Before You Say I Do…
It’s every girl’s dream to get
married and more so, look amazingly beautiful in her dream wedding dress. However,
making that dream come true utterly depends on you and how much preparation you
put into looking your best on the ‘D-day’.
Finding the right wedding dress is
somewhat a herculean task but to take the stress off you, here are tips you
must take into consideration before shopping for a wedding dress....
1. Learn
the Style Terms To Level The Dress Playing Field
Wedding dresses have their own
names for necklines, hemlines and shirt fits. Check wedding catalogues for some
pictures and info graphics that will visually guide you so you can point your
wedding consultant in the right direction.
2. Know What Looks Good On You
Evaluating your closet for your
favourite necklines (mine is sweet heart) and best looking party dresses can
help you get a feel for what you like. However, if you are curious about a style,
try it on. You would never know how horrible a ball gown could look on your
frame until you wear it.
3. Go With Your Bridal “Gut”
There are times when the dresses
you tried looked good but they didn’t make you feel like a bride. When you find
the right dress, there is a feeling of not wanting to take it off. It will make
you feel beautiful, calm, gown up and ready to take on this wedding!
4. Go With Other Wedding Effects
When going for your bridal gown
fitting, wear cute under-wear and make sure to do your make-up and hair for the
full effect; just like the way you want to look on your special day. Try it on
with proper party heels or if possible, the wedding shoes to get the exact
length of the dress and jewellery. Get everything in place and you will be the
most charming bride ever on your day.
5. Go For an Expert
This is one of the few times in
your life that you are allowed to be vain. If you are buying off the rack, make
sure it’s from a superb bridal store where quality staff can provide you with a
luxury experience. Look for one that has purchased runways and mirrors for
viewing both the front and back of your dress as well as full bridal changing
suites. Make sure you make your dress buying an outing with those you love; who
would give you their honest opinion.
