Trendy Gist Blog has reliably
gathered that students of the University of Port Harcourt, today took to the
streets to protest the death of their fellow student: Kelechi Ndulagwa, a 200
Level Theatre Arts student, who allegedly died yesterday after she slumped in
her hostel.
The news gathered
from Gist Uniport, an on-line news portal in Uniport, has it that the female
student named Kelechi Ndulagwa, reportedly slumped in her bathroom yesterday
morning and was rushed to the hospital at 5:30 am, but she wasn't admitted
because according to them, a ‘Nurse’ working with the hospital (UPTH), said
there was no bed space to accommodate her. #shakingmyhead
The news continues
that some Students, however, blamed the death of the young girl, who is said to
be the only daughter of her parents; on an alleged incompetence of the management
of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital. (UPTH)
Because of this alleged neglect and
insensitivity; some angered students today took to the streets of Port Harcourt
to express their anger over the death of their fellow students. Sources said, the
students protested within the University of Port Harcourt premises and its
environs… shutting down lecture halls and libraries, and blocking the East West
express road.
Trendy Gist Blog
awaits official press release on this ugly incident from the image maker of the
Students Union Government of the University of Port Harcourt…till then let’s
make do with this available information gathered from blogs and websites.
