The Contraceptive Condom, How Safe? How Permissible?

It baffles me to observe how our society has been bastardized by the promotion of satanic and morally debased philosophies, even when the consequences of such practices are very glaring. I have observed in recent times especially with the advent of the dread HIV/AIDS, the wide publicity given to the latex condom. In fact, a lot of human and material resources are been put in place to champion the spread of this ‘condomic gospel’...

There is an increase effort in creating this condom awareness in the electronic media through sponsored programs and even advertorials in print media encouraging the public on the use of “rain coat”. On one occasion, I was morally touched to see some medical students sharing condoms publicly to the other students and even passersby.
They carried out this assignment with much vigor and enthusiasm that seemed to project condom as ‘messiah and saviour’. But, my question is; this contraceptive condom, how safe and how moral permissible is it?
In my quest to provide an answer to this moral issue, I ran into an article written by Kalu Innocent a reverend gentleman. He submitted that condom maybe fairly successful in preventing pregnancies and some sexually transmitted diseases.
However, scientific researchers have discovered that condom is not after all the impeccable protector it claims to be. According to him, a recent publication that was sponsored by the American government agencies shows that condom was discovered to be of no use against many STD’s. This is because according to the publication is human sperm is about 50 microns in size, while the pores that occur in latex condom are about 5 microns in diameter. Then the HIV virus is said to be about 0.1 micron in size. Paradoxically, these claims were made by the same agencies that sponsor condom promotion in Africa. What a contraction.
Unfortunately, the safety of the contraceptive condom is not fully guaranteed. The latex condom apart from its porosity has the risk of leakage, break or slip off during intercourse. The myth of a ‘safe sex’ with condom is hereby nullified. The failure rate of the latex condom is made conspicuous in the increasing cases of HIV/AIDS in the world.
On the question of moral permissibility of the latex condom, Kalu Innocent linked the use of condom to the ‘Onanism’ of Gen. 38:9 where God was provoked with Onan and killed him instantly for attempting to strip the sexual act of its dignity and sanctity act of its contradiction that some so-called ‘Christian churches’ are encouraging the use of condom projects a false sense of security and cheapens the dignity of an individual by making him an object of pleasure rather than a person, then, the promotion and spread of the ‘condomic message’ also tantamount to abuse of human dignity.
No doubt, the condom business is flourishing in Nigeria. But, don’t you think it is a contradiction that while these manufacturing countries tell their people some little truths about this latex condom, our people are kept in the dark by some of these shameless importers.

Finally, it is high time our government lived up to their responsibilities by stopping all the prevarications and letting the citizens know the truth. The simple truth is that condoms do not guarantee a one hundred percent protection. Self control, marital fidelity and sexual responsibility remain the best way to steer clear of undesirable situations.
