Nigeria Set to have the First Elected Female Governor as Tribunal Rules in Favour of Mrs Aisha (Mama Taraba) of APC

Report reaching us now has it that the governorship elections petitions tribunal sitting in Abuja has sacked Darius Ishaku of PDP and declared Aisha Jummai Alhassan of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the duly elected governor of Taraba state.
Following this development, Mama Taraba is set to become the first elected female governor in Nigeria if the incumbent, Darius Ishaku, decides not to appeal against the verdict. 
It was gathered that chairman of the tribunal Danladi Abubakar, declared Alhassan winner of the April 11 governorship election on the grounds that Ishaku did not emerge candidate of the PDP in a proper primary election. He ruled that Alhassan be sworn in immediately as governor of Taraba state. The tribunal also quashed 10 applications of Ishaku, who urged the court to dismiss the petition of Alhassan for lack of merit.
