Just yesterday Friday, February 5, 2016, it was officially revealed by those in charge of media and publicity at the Villa, that President Muhammadu Buhari has proceeded on a 5-day vacation.
The Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), Mr. Femi Adesina, told newsmen that President Buhari will be on break from his official functions from February 5 to February 10, 2016; adding that in compliance with relevant sections of our constitution, while the President is on vacation, the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo will perform the functions of the President.
Since then, some media pundits have not rested. Some are already speculating that he's embarking on a medical treatment, (as if it's too bad to be sick). While some are already reportedly labeling the Kastina born politician 'not fit' to rule Nigeria. Hmmm!
The last time I checked, this is not the first time, a President in Nigeria is embarking on vacation. OBJ, late Yaradua, and even GEJ all did it, so what's so special about PMB doing it?
The good side of the story is that he handed over a cerebral thinker. A man who knows his onions in Legal studies and a Professor of repute. Don't forget many persons that voted Buhari also considered his ruling mate Pastor Yemi. So with Professor Osinbajo in charge for 5 days, I don't see any need to panic.
