I was getting into Danielle Steel's Kaleidoscope when I heard a loud thud on the gate. I paid no attention and continued reading until I heard voices in what seemed like a commotion outside the gate.
I rushed outside to find my neighbour engaged in a fisticuff with a NEPA official. The punch meant for the NEPA man nearly landed on my face as I tried to get in between the two men.
What happened? PHEDC came with one of those their crazy bills and this time, my good neighbour will have none of it. For two weeks now, we've not had light more than 3 hours.
How PHEDC came up with twenty two thousand naira bill was the question that irked the PHEDC official. No be dey write the bill, the boy had said, to which my neighbour told him to return the bill.
The young man was very lucky to escape with his life as he was nearly lynched by other angry folks.
Things are getting crazier by the day, power has gone from epileptic to near comatose. Fuel scarcity and hike in fuel price is becoming a common feature.
We never expected magic from Buhari, Asking for the basic things in life, is not asking for magic. If you can't give us change, at least don't let it get worse.
