Popular Nollywood actor, John Okafor, also
known as (Mr. Ibu), is sure balling. He is really cashing in from his glomming
movie career. According to sources close to him, Mr. Ibu was last week unveiled
as brand ambassador for Merrybet Gold Limited. Oh wow!
The Nollywood comedy star in his usual
manner disclosed this latest development to Emcomium Weekly. According to him: “It feels great. I am happy to be honoured
with that endorsement. This is just the beginning and I am sure more are coming”.
He equally disclosed his role as the (Merrybet
Gold) sports betting company’s ambassador ans succinctly debunked speculations
that he was paid #100 million. He explained that the #1oo million is not for
him (Mr. Ibu), but money to be won by those who participate in the promo.
In his words: “My role is to represent the brand and present prizes to winners of
their ongoing promo, where a lot of prizes would be won. Let me use the
opportunity to clear air on the story going on air that the company paid me
N100 million for endorsing me. It’s not true, the N100 million is not for me,
but money to be won by the people who participate in the promo”.
Although the comic actor refused to say the
worth of the deal,
sources close to him said it’s between N7 million and N10 million. Rolling my eyes!
