Rumour
mongers, why na?
So yesterday some self paid
rumour mongers came up with the fabricated news that former Chelsea defensive
midfielder Michael Essien has contacted the dread Ebola Virus that is currently
ravaging some countries of West Africa. The news went viral but, I didn’t blog
it because something told me that claim was false.
However, thank God the Ghanaian
& AC Milan starlet has completely debunked the speculation as false and
unfounded. But, come to think of it, how can someone put in great powers in
spreading a false tale against a popular star like Essien? I personally think
it high time we bloggers started investigating and verifying news before going
to press. You must not tarnish someone’s reputation just to drag all the
traffics to yourself… Mbanu! I said this because I learnt that even a popular
& reputable Nigerian website reported the story prompting everyone to
believe the story.
Essien succinctly slam the false
tales and also threatened to sue the person who started the false claims on his
Twitter handle thus:
No truth in internet rumours that
I have contracted Ebola.i m very well & I’m doing very gud & will be
training as usual tomorrow.#falsenews

better and our thoughts & prayers are with them and their families. #sue
