I’m not a stalker (well, not in
every sense of the word), but I had to checked out all of Jane’s Facebook
pictures.
Actually, I did that to trace the
kind of men she’s been with and how ‘jerky’ their pictures would look. What I
didn’t realize was the fact that no lady keeps the pictures of their ‘ex-es’
locked in their photo albums. However, I stumbled upon one of the albums; she
named it “#TeamBitches”.
That caught my curiosity....
I quickly tapped to see, and
there I found what would make me start thinking I’m being manipulated; Ivy,
Anabel, herself and someone that looked like Sophie, all in some Prestige
Pirates of the Caribbean Angelica Costumes.
Other pictures of them showed
their faces even more clearly without the costumes. It was like a clique of friends
on the Caribbean Island for a vacation.
Now I don’t know what to think.
My mind went numb for a second.
“Wait, Duke! Do these girls
actually know each other?” I asked myself in awe, totally in awe.
Oh! I think I’m missing something
here. I didn’t even tell you what happened last night.
We eventually met at Rhapsody,
one of my favorite Ikoyi joints.
She was exactly as she looked in
her fb pictures; tall, fair, bright bold eyes, pointed nose and thin lips like
those of the whites.
I made order for the drinks and
we got talking.
Even though I tried so hard to be
myself, she quickly noticed I was kind of shy. She was like “stop being coy,
Duke”.
We both laughed and I leveraged
on that as though I was actually being coy. (One of those things, you know).
As I listened to her, I felt a
well of pity for such a gorgeous damsel. On sight, she’s every man’s dream. I
just couldn’t understand why she had to go through all that.
“Now tell me, do you still
imagine your future with a man?” I asked.
“Heck no! Men are…”
“Hey don’t give me that anymore;
it’s all over your timeline.” I interrupted.
She paused, tucked her thin black
hair behind each ear, then squints like a little girl as she sipped her drink
through a pink straw.
I didn’t even know what to say to
her anymore as I was careful enough not to fall into ‘that emotional trap’.
We talked a little further and
afterwards, I asked her to always call whenever she needed to talk to someone.
Would that be my mistake? I hope not.
We hugged and she thanked me for
listening.
As we both came out to the lobby,
she turned and gave me an unexpected kiss on the cheek. “I really appreciate
this, Duke. Thank you!”
I gently helped her closed her
white Ford Focus door as she zoomed off.
I got home and I just couldn’t
take her off my head. And that was when I decided to go have a peep at her
Facebook albums, where I found what has left me in total confusion.
As I sat there in my bewildered
state, Neil and Sophie walked in. She was more alive than ever. I quickly
adjusted and promised myself I wasn’t going to say a thing.
Obviously, it was a great weekend
for them and I didn’t want to ruin it, just yet.
