Yah! The social media has been polluted
with nudity and raunchy pictures, and you don’t need to be told that social
media practitioners (Bloggers and their likes), are responsible for this show
of shame and denigration of human dignity. I am a Blogger; so don’t get it
twisted; but truth be told, the shenanigans of flaunting nude pictures that has
taken over the social media today is reprehensible; so am gonna fires some shots
at my friends and colleagues in the blogsphere who are largely responsible for
this cyber gaffe; without been belligerent.

The emergence and prominence of the on-line media in this technological era is indeed a welcomed development. The quicker dissemination of information is made possible by some gurus who occupy enviable positions in the cyber space. They’ve done more that you can even think of, in terms of entertainment and enlightenment of the general public…my blog site Trendy Gist has this as one of the core principles. Applauded!
But the harm of the shenanigans of
pornographic materials especially from social media, can never be neglected. To
a point I began to wonder, why people find such sites that do nothing but
flaunt nude pictures of females, and leaked raunchy video of celebrities, so
absorbing. To the best of my knowledge, it is obnoxious and intrusive; overly
intrusive to dominate the media space with erotic materials just to amass
wealth from on-line advertisers; it suggests hollow, worthlessness and
purposelessness. Perhaps, popular site these days are ones that conveyance
nothing but nudity and negativity. What a mess?
The reasons for this culture of
nudity ranges from the demands of the markets to the increasing quest by we
bloggers to generate high traffics and by extension make too much money. In fact,
during a conversation with some of my colleagues on this dismay condition,
especially on how to remedy the already abysmal situation; I was easily
reprimanded like an 'unrepentant charlatan', that the culture of nudity on social
media has come to stay because that is exactly what the market wants.
Put differently, the major but
ostensible reason for this negation of morality as deduced by one of my blogger
friends, was that we are producing for the market, and must conform to the
demands of the markets else we blog ourselves out of relevance. They maintained
that the hullabaloo against the upsurge of pornographic materials will
definitely amount to efforts in futility. Well, he seems right but, from a
negative reasoning.
Another reason why this madness
has continued unabated is that bloggers and other social media actors are in
dire need of traffics which in most cases translates to money from goggle ads
arrangements. So you can see how the crazy for traffics has drove bloggers to
update their site with all sorts of trash to attract the traffic.
Again, the crazy for fame and
glamour has obviously bamboozled our young girls into shamelessness. If not, how
may we explain a situation whereby a young lad in her senses will prefer to
show off her décolletages in an unapologetic manner just to gain attention? What
about that God forsaken pant and bra called Bikini that drool men like never
before? Anyway, that should be a story for another day. We also heard that some of the sex tapes going
viral on social media these days are deliberately released by those females in
the guise of leaked videos, just to gain attention. Yah! So, ladies can to any
length in search of fame and popularity? God forbid!
The questions are: what are the
consequences of this ever increasing raunchy and erotic social media? The
question completely takes me back to the resurgence of the decadence of the
modern western culture in our African society; especially ones fuelled by
sexual immorality. The depreciated moral standard has seemingly brainwashed our
youths into unrestrained social misconduct.
No doubt, the youths are
completely left abashed by the obscurity of sex depicting pictures that are
reigning supreme currently on social media. One thought that the culture of showcasing
nudity in the blogsphere was in abeyance, while stiffer measures put in place
by goggle to tame the beast; but the resurgence of offensive pictures from the
pit of hell where it was left for some time now, calls for caution. To be continued…

In this world of ours, things that were previously frowned against are now being accepted which is not supposed to be so all in the quest for money and fame.
ReplyDeleteWhere will all these take us to when we would eventually die and leave them here on earth.
Let's think about the future consequences of our actions.
We are not helping ourselves.
We know the right thing to do but we choose to do the wrong thing.
I couldn't agree less...@anonymous
