This week on trendy fashion, we'll look into 5 trends you don't take seriously, but obviously should... Because they rock! NOTE: guys have no business with this one. Sorry.
First on our list is "OFF THE SHOULDER TOPS". This trend is sure to trend this year and when it does, you can say trendy gist told you so. Haha.
Want to make sure you don't spoil this fine style? Here's a tip from Alex Sweterlitsch:"The intimidating part of this trend for most women is finding the silhouette that most flatters their figure. My suggestion is to embrace fullness or interesting shapes if you are petite and to choose a body-con version if you have a larger bust."
ROCK AND ROLL is the second on our list. Get your leather on, ladies... even if leather jackets aren't too popular among my naija babes. Hehehe. Try this trend with a subtle touch—think a fishnet tank peaking out from under a matching silk blouse or a grommet belt worn with tailored trousers.
This trend will shock you. And Yes, you'll wear it out, not before going to bed. Third on our list is pajamas. Uh huh... PAJAMAS.
This is What Alex Sweterlitsch has to say on this: "Slip dresses, camisoles with lace details, and silk pajamas sound like the dress code for a really chic pajama party, but actually these were some of the most common items on the spring runways. Less is more for this one, so do wear silk pajama pants with a chic blazer and heels, but don’t wear this trend head-to-toe."
Second to last is not a dress and it's definitely not anything related to sleep wears. The fourth trend is a colour— Yellow. According to a celeb stylist, "yellow is a key colour trend for 2016". So if you like looking trendy like us, then grab some yellow stuff for the year (by grab, I mean buy, not "grab". Hehehe)
Here's some advice though, Bronzed and darker skin tones should go for a bright shade; if you have fair skin, stick to pastel or rich marigold. If you’re still uneasy about wearing this trend, try out an accessory like a handbag or pair of simple pointed toe pumps with an otherwise understated neutral outfit.
Finally finally, the last but definitely not the least, STRIPES. Yeah... get your zebra on! Hehehehe.
Lemme let a pro give you the details of this one. "This season on the runways, stripes were big, they were bold, and they were everywhere. I know I immediately remembered the 'horizontal stripes are not your friend' style lesson, so for this, I recommend sticking to a stripe that runs on a diagonal—it offers the same visual impact but is more flattering for a variety of shapes." — Alex Sweterlitsch.
And that's all on this week's edition of TRENDY FASHION WEEKLY. Come back next week for more trendy fashion trends. Adios!
