In what seemed to be an ample
opportunity to air her views on some contemporary issues in the society, Akwa
Ibom state born Beauty Queen, Esther Williams
preferably called Jaunty in a recent
exclusive interview with Trendy Gist
opens up on her personal life, bias in the pageantry and her stand on pre-marital sex.
The second year English student
of Adegboyega University, Edo state,
who is currently signed to JAKES
Modeling Agency and JC Models Africa, equally seized the opportunity to
slam fellow models that ‘reportedly’ sleep with men just to win crowns.
Read the interview after the cut…
Ø Do you share the minority perception that a
Beauty pageant must sleep her way to get to the crown?
No one should sleep her way to
get the crown, no matter what. It is down grading and a thing of shame to find
out that you will actually be facing the same person you had sexual
relationship with during the course of your reign. Seriously, what’s there to
gain? Such a person will never reconcile with her conscience because there will
be better girls that didn’t win and the audience will be asking questions. I
don’t share that idea. I strongly kick against it!
Ø Most people say that pageantry is always
bias…in your own case what do you think?
It is obvious that there are too
many bodies that erupt nowadays to put up pageants and their own aim is to
extort money from supporters and bombard it on their contestants. Most pageants
now have already made winners. They just need other contestants to make the
show interesting which is very bad. I support free and fair pageants. I hate
injustice. It doesn’t tell well of the pageant bodies in Nigeria, although, it
is not a surprise that most people feel that pageants are not free and fair
because they didn’t win.
Ø Do you think sex is an important aspect of a
relationship?
Well, premarital sex isn’t Godly,
but I wouldn’t criticize people that think differently. I think it makes one
closer to his or her partner but there are other ways you can you can be closer
to your partner aside having sex and disobeying God. Communication is a good
aspect too. Occasional gratitude and sweet words can help too. Sex can be
avoided until after marriage. It doesn’t kill to abstain. What’s the big deal
about rushing to take what is all yours? I think it’s only a relationship that
has a marital basis that should be concerned with sex.
Ø Apart from love, what else attracts you to a
guy?
What attracts me to a guy is just
craziness. I love being crazy and I love a guy that is free to be real and is
not formal. Formalities are boring and boring is what I can’t deal with. I
appreciate a guy that is God fearing, that loves adventures and loves short girls.
(Laughs)
Ø Again…what’s your take on the ‘Baby Mama
Syndrome’
Baby mama syndrome is something
ALL girls and ladies should avoid. It’s like discrimination…like the man has a
special person he wants to be with and you are just a baby making factory. I
don’t advice any lady to go along with this baby mama syndrome.
Ø Finally, what your assessment of Trendy Gist
Blog
I would say, ‘go Trendy’. You
guys are doing a fabulous job and I want to commend your hard work and efforts.
Trendy Gist is not just a blog; it’s a
widely celebrated, fun filled arena for latest gist. You guys rock!

oh really, craziness attracts you to a guy. This babe must be a rough rider....lol! I saw it on her eyes
