Exclusive!!! 5 Top Singers in Nigeria & Their Rise to Stardom >>> Singer WAJE!

Today, in continuation with our discussion on the top five singers in Nigeria and how they became so famous in the already male dominated and populated entertainment world; my focus is on a top songstress whose voice can turn on a monk. Her name is Aituaje Iruobe popularly known as WAJE! Born on September 1st, in Akure, Ondo state, WAJE (an acronym for "Words Aren’t Just Enough") was the first child and the first daughter in her family....continue

Waje attended the Word of Faith Group of Schools and later joined the choir; where she caught the attention of the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa of Church of God Mission Int’l; who decided to help her throughout her whole secondary school days, because of her gospel tunes and sweet melodies as a young singer in the church.
On her rise to stardom, WAJE studied Social Work at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu state because of her love for charity and humanitarian work. During her university days, this song bird was quite enthusiastic about gospel tunes, and she focused primarily on her musical works such as school concerts and fellowships. She listened and learned from her mentors such as Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin to improve her music.
Her major early spotlight at the music scene was her feature in P-Square’s “Omoge Mi” and as the female voice in the Square records 2008 hit track “Do Me,” Banky W "Thief my Kele," M.I "One Naira." Remarkably, it was in 2007, that this damsel, Waje decided to take the biggest step in her musical career and fully launch her music career. Industry sources said she was still a student at the time and paid her dues by doing lots of free shows and gigs, singing at every given opportunity.
Notably, the Ondo state born songstress called Waje has shared the same stage with various international artists such as Wyclef Jean in South Africa; opening for Kerry Hilson during a show organised in Calabar, and also collaborated with Dencia on "True Love".
It may interest you to know that Waje the mother of a pretty daughter Emerald, is not just a songstress, she has equally made an acting debut on the movie called Tunnel_(film), with Femi Jacobs, Patrick Doyle, Nse- Etm, Lepacious Bose, and others; in a 2014 Nigerian drama film directed by Stanlee Ohikhuare which is a story about a young pastor's life, journey and his fulfillments.
She has got the following awards and recognitions to her credit:
Ø  BEST RHYTHM AND BLUES SINGER 2011 CITY PEOPLE ENTERTAINMENT AWARDS,
