Monday Autograph!!! Top 3 Nollywood Actors & Their Rise to Stardom

Of course, the culture of visiting the cinema is gradually returning in Nigeria. So yesterday, my friends and I were at one of the cinemas in the city; and it was really awesome. The visit was an ample opportunity for me not only to relax and entertain myself, but to reflect on the revolution that has happened and is still going on in the movie industry. Yup! The top three actors ruling the big screen is our focus on today’s edition of Monday autograph. Apart from their expertise in the field, these men have really transformed the movie industry into a funny filled venture.
I am sure you guys maybe expecting the likes of Ramsey Nouah, Jim Iyke or Emeka Ike to lead the roll call, hell no, because it seems these old Nollywood faces, are currently not such good swimmers as they used to be. Reasons for this are not farfetched; some of them are best described now as business tycoons, high sea merchants etc, while many others are still struggling to save their marriages bamboozled with martial crisis, so you can imagine the distractions.
In fact, there are fabulous new comers like Uti, Alex and co, who are really coasting home right now on the big screen. These new set of charming and talented Nollywood actors have been snapping up all the movie scripts; and am set to talk about them and their rise to stardom.
In no definite arrangement, Trendy Gist presents to you our three top Nollywood actors who are currently ruling the movie industry....

Ø  Uti Nwachukwu

Uti Nwachukwu is one of the biggest names ruling the big screen in Nigeria. The former BBA winner has gradually transformed himself from a top model icon to an enviable big screen lord. He assumed a prominent position in the movie industry after he emerged BBA reality TV show winner in 2010 and since then the name Uti has been sounding loud in cinemas.
No doubt, the model and compere who is allegedly dating singer Saeon had found himself in the murky waters of controversy in the past but he has always found a way of shrugging them off and even coming out stronger.
His rise to stardom can never be disassociated from his whirlwind romance in the Big Brother Africa reality show and the associating accolades, fame and fortune.
Ø  Alex Ekubo

Another big shot in the movie industry is actor Alex Ekubo. This handsome young man made his movie debut as a minor actor in Lancelot Imasuen’s Sinners in the House in 2005, while his first major role was in Ladies Man, some years back.
According to him, what drives him as an actor was his desire to succeed in his career and his desire to make his family proud. His rise to stardom began in 2010 when he emerged first runner up at the Mr. Nigeria contest. Some may want to argue that Alex in the early stage of his career was more popular as a model than as an actor, but he rose to prominence in the movie industry in the later days, and he has to his credit several awards and recognitions.
This talented dude who is open to correction, has featured in top enthralling movies like: In the Cupboard, True Citizens, Dream Walker, Weekend Getaway, Gold Digging, Keeping My Man, Lagos Cougars, All That Glitters, Single, Married and Complicated, Champagne, among others. Most of his films are for the big screen.

Ø  Joseph Benjamin
Last but not the least is actor Joseph Benjamin started his movie career at a tender age of 12 in the popular movie: Tales by Moonlight. His rise to stardom is associated with his role as a co-host of MTN’s Project Fame. After that, he became very prominent in the big screen and has many accolades and awards to his credit, including the African Actor of the Year award at the 2012 African Film Awards.
He featured in the famed adult film: Crossroads, together with Ramsey Nouah and Sandra Achums. Today, Joe is currently one of the leading lights of the big screen.
