Uniport students took to the streets of Port Harcourt in the early hours of today to protest what they termed injustice melted to them by the school authorities, by subjecting them to what they called inhuman school fees policies.
According to reliable sources, the students of the unique institution, in the early hours of today shutdown all academic activities in the institution, and equally blocked the East West road keeping motorists and travellers stranded.
Trendy Gist reliably gathered that most entry and exit points in the institution have been relatively blocked, leaving the university management, staff and students stranded.
It was equally gathered that the protest is championed by the leadership of the student union government; and they have also barricaded all access roads leading to the institution, including the major East-West road and the Choba-Uniport road.
Reports have it that the students are protesting mainly against the hike in school fees and other levies.
